Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data displayed in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to support spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also known as a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to verify that you are using it. The Gravatar service’s privacy policy is available at this link: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture will be visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

When uploading images on the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and extract location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you can choose to save your name, e-mail address and website in cookies. This is for your convenience, so you don’t have to re-enter your details when you leave another comment. These cookies remain valid for one year.

When you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.

How long we keep your data

When you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are kept indefinitely. We do this so that we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically, rather than keeping them in a queue for moderation.

All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except their username they cannot change). Website administrators can also view and edit that information.

You may also request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are required to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.
